Who we are

Compassionate, ethical, & patient‑centered

Soroti Orthopaedic and Surgical Specialists Centre Limited (SOSSCL) was established with a vision to provide world-class orthopaedic and surgical care to eastern Uganda. We combine clinical excellence with a deep respect for every person who walks through our doors.

Our story: from vision to reality

Foundation

Founded by Dr. Michael Emusugut and a group of orthopaedic specialists, SOSSCL opened with a commitment to providing accessible, high-quality orthopaedic care to the region.

Building infrastructure

Early growth focused on establishing dedicated clinical spaces, modern operating theatres, and 24/7 emergency services to meet growing community needs.

Comprehensive services

Expanded to include a full-service laboratory, physiotherapy department, diagnostic imaging, and specialized outpatient clinics. Became a referral centre for orthopaedic excellence.

Centre of excellence

Today SOSSCL operates as a modern, integrated facility with a multi-disciplinary team serving the region with orthopaedic, surgical, and diagnostic services with compassion and excellence.
